The Soups and Salads are not to be overlooked. The sizable menu continues with four flatbreads ($9-$10), Burgers and Sandwiches including a Cheddar Bacon Burger ($12), a Breauben ($10) -you read that correctly, the corned beef is brined in Excavator Rye Brown Ale, and a T-Meadow Bratwurst Sandwich ($10) with Excavator Rye Brown Ale sauce. The menu starts with Shareable Plates like Hand-cut Fries ($8) that are served with two of five signature sauces, Hayburger Wings ($9) tossed in Hayburner IPA wing sauce (what’d I tell ya), and a Flight of Dips ($8) which we tried on our first visit and loved. Many of the dishes feature a Big Ditch brew in the recipie, a sure-fire way to get food worthy of a beer pairing. Right off the bat (as in literally day one) the Big Ditch food menu surprised us: this brewery decided to go for the whole shebang. And if you want an authentic Buffalo beer experience this is a great place to start. If you want to get seated right away, bring your A game to the bar. If you’re interested in being right in the thick of it, try to snag a seat on the main level. If you’re looking for something a tad quieter, head upstairs where there’s a second bar and some lounge games. Over multiple visits we’ve eaten upstairs, downstairs, and at the bar, and each spot has been equally enjoyable.

The space is casual, the service is good, and the atmosphere is energetic. They’ve got a fun menu that always leaves me somewhat sad that I can’t physically fit more into my belly, and they have an awesome space where anyone with a fun streak would want to hang. A really good restaurant.īig Ditch is a really good restaurant that we strongly recommend. Big Ditch Brewing isn’t just a brewery and tap room – it’s a restaurant.

Not only were they making good beer downtown, they were also doing all they could to make a great space to enjoy that beer 30 feet from where it was made.

The location of the brewery made this place a big deal, but when the doors opened and the tap room revealed itself as an extremely unique space with a full menu we got really excited. When the beautiful two story tap room opened in May they had already been selling their beer at bars, beer stores, and other restaurants for quite some time. The highly anticipated opening of one of WNY’s newest breweries in the heart of Downtown Buffalo didn’t go unnoticed this year.
